Capital Adjustment Procedures for Capital Futures Hong Kong Stock Futures
- "Capital adjustment" refers to the adjustments made by the Hong Kong Exchange to the contract price and contract multiplier of stock futures contracts. These adjustments occur in response to corporate actions such as stock splits, consolidations, rights issues (capital increases), bonus shares, or cash dividends (stock dividends), which alter the company's capital structure.
- In the event of a capital adjustment for stock futures, our company may restrict trading in all contract months for the affected product starting at 11:30 a.m. on the trading day prior to the ex-date or the effective date of the corporate action (capital adjustment effective date). Forced liquidation may also be initiated at this time.
- On the effective date of the stock futures capital adjustment, our company may allow traders to trade the standard contracts.
